@Rubywax today every word resonated with the work I have chosen to do on myself, with other women and in my workplace. Was an honour meeting you today at the Cheltenham festival. Thank you!
@cyeates76 Thank you for your presentation today for the Relational Schools Conference - you gave me some great food for thought about how to build (or mix and bake) a true relational culture of trust among staff.
Brill discussion at #FollowTheArrows bookclub! Pt 2, looking at how good people can be manipulated into doing bad things (Stanford; Robbers Cave; Milgram) & tales of resistance (Miracle of Denmark). The book skillfully pulls off being terrifying & inspirational at the same time.
So glad this @rcbregman book is this months #followthearrows bookclub pick...a welcome & fascinating tonic at the moment.
In summary, contrary to the often promoted narrative "...most people deep down are pretty decent..." but I guess you know that already #edutwitter?
Today was a great day, textbook restorative practice & relational work with vulnerable children. Some days all the hard work just pays off in the right kinda way!
So, u join a leadership conversation with #FollowTheArrows Bookclub about @BreneBrown Dare To Lead & you end up covering Gratitude, Emotion, Trust, Commitment, Potential, Personal Congruence & above all Courage.
"There is no act of Courage without Vulnerability"
#theweaknessmyth
Final chapters tonight & @theyellowkite shows ways of working with young people that really #connect.. if teachers go high-be courageous (humble; grateful; vulnerable ....apologise!) u can really see, know and ultimately successfully teach any child.

@Callum_SEND Careful it’s a trap..... I started mine then fell into the ‘Let’s use those credits towards my masters’...... huge achievement whilst working full time & 2 young children but wow it was hard work! It is worth it if that’s the route you want to go. 👍
Faced with a challenge today.... a child of trauma being denied time with their EAA as they ‘didn’t stay in their lessons all day’.....people are not rewards...relationships are needs based not ‘rewards’ based. Never should we deny dysregulated children time with their EAA. 🤦♀️
A new term & new #followthearrows bookclub delivers a brill hour on "differentiated discipline"..discussions around useful checklists, the reframing of language & financial arguments for AATR practice...& that's only the first few chapters! See @Callum_SEND for detailed summary!
When you work with a LAC child for 2.5 years & his mother makes contact the day before leavers day to fill his head with dreams she will break 6 hours later......heart breaking #traumarepeated
@BEarlyyears Thank you so much for sharing this resource. We are a special school and focus a lot on emotional regulation. We used zones of regulation but this fits in perfectly. I’m struggling to get it saved from the drop box. email me please? Thanks [email protected]
