Just seen a mouse in @Schiphol Airport 🐀! Still a far better airport experience than anywhere else with security and immigration a breeze today

@Micah_mb010 @AmazonUK @AmazonHelp @Zmangames_ @amazon Nope, that's officially sold by @AmazonUK 😵
Thanks for the link - looks like a great resource for buying boardgames!

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

Looking at expansion packs for my boardgames on @AmazonUK: all's well til I look at the product info! some fields contain the same odd/wrong phrase,
but "material composition" is so wrong and offensive! Why are drug/disease names and a slur mentioned? @AmazonHelp @Zmangames_

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

@KarenLMasters Is it worth it? I'm really starting to hate this place :(

Happy 5th birthday MeerKAT telescope. You have truly contributed to some amazing science in this short time. Congrats to everyone @SKA_Africa for this wonderful achievement! It was truly an honour to celebrate with the team today.#astronomy #STEM

[Joe Callingham @AstroJoeC]

For all those PhD students and postdocs out there, this is the best (and most time efficient) way to discover how to use and reduce @LOFAR data.

First Image of the #Sun with #MeerKAT Solar Observations - Opening a New Frontier in Solar Physics: https://t.co/Yreo7k0cDU -> "we present the first images of the Sun made using the observations with the MeerKAT at L-band (856 -- 1711 MHz)".

Important new work done by colleagues, detecting unexpected interference from satellites at low frequencies, likely caused by onboard electronics - that’s how sensitive telescopes are!

If we can pick up a radio on Pluto, we can detect satellites 500km above our heads…📡🛰️

Great to see drinking fountains that can fill water bottles at @Schiphol, but I was lucky to find only one hidden under the escalator, after failing to fill my bottle at the fountains outside the toilets.

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

Exciting start to the meeting today! (A fire in a transformer building at Leiden University means no power to many buildings for unknown duration...). My second @lorentzcenter meeting that's been efficiently relocated due to evacuation!

If you see this tweet, QT with the most recent photo you took of your pet. No cheating

@AstroRadioLeah @BenneHolwerda Seconded!

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

The feeling of having absolutely zero agency in the process absolutely sucks - follow the rules, and smile and be grateful for what they magnanimously decide to grant you 🙄 and I have a lot of privilege in this process

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

And after all that time, effort, money and mental capacity spent, I get my passport back with the Schengen visa (yay that I got it) and it is valid for 3 months. I'm going to have to do this all again in August 😡😡😡 and no explanation why they can't grant a longer term.

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

For those who aren't aware: one does not simply just apply for and get a visa (not an esta). I've made the appointment, filled out the official form. Now I need to gather the supporting documents, including letters of support and invitation. [1/2]

[Dr Wendy Williams @cygnus_ww]

And this when you can barely get an appointment because they are apparently so short staffed and behind on processing visa applications.

Happy to announce the ninth installment of "Science at Low Frequencies" will be held in Amsterdam from the 11th to the 15th of December. SALF is organised by all the Dutch radio astronomy community, with @ASTRON_NL taking the lead. More details here: https://t.co/g2BdogpUCv
