@darkswordsmantv @FreyaHolmer it's certainly not ideal, but that's why typescript became a thing, new runtimes like bun also natively support typescript and interoperability with CJS and ESM
@amaanq1010 @FreyaHolmer i agree, it's a war zone, but i just wanted to point out how some amazing community-provided support can turn vscode into basically any IDE you'd maybe want, i've used it for java, rust, godot, unity, etc. and then still have consistencies in look and feel

@FreyaHolmer tldr look into biomejs for linting/formatting and bun is the new fuckboy js/ts runtime/everything on the block (most of the time this involves installing the vscode extension, adding the dependency to your project and maybe a small config file)
