The African Development Bank #AfDB ranked the most transparent development institution globally in the 2024 Aid Transparency Index, marking the second consecutive year in which it has achieved this recognition. Good old Africa has something to teach!

Great visiting with USAID Administrator Samantha Power in Washington. We signed an MOU between @USAID and @AfDB_Group to finance women fund managers in Africa to support women on climate change solutions. @PowerUSAID @POTUS @SecYellen
Celebrating excellent partnership between @AfDB_Group and @USAID. We will do more together on energy, food security, transport, agriSME debt and equity finance, and support to women-led businesses. Thank you @PowerUSAID @SecYellen @POTUS
@SecBlinken Just to reiterate "Rwandans will never understand why any country would remain intentionally vague about who was targeted in the genocide. Such ambiguity is, in fact, a form of denial, which is a crime in and of itself, and Rwanda will always challenge it." H.E President Kagame
Grief and gratitude, in equal measure. We ache with a collective sadness, and still we rise to rebuild this beautiful nation. That is our legacy.
Komera Rwanda.

Today marks the beginning of #Kwibuka30. 30 years since the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.
As Rwandans of course know, but as other readers might not, the word “Kwibuka” is a Kinyarwanda word. It means “To Remember.”
This August will mark three years since @solaafghanistan arrived in Rwanda. Three years since my school community stepped off airplanes and onto the tarmac and the first Rwandan citizens who stood there waiting to meet us were trauma counselors. Not customs officials or security officers. Trauma counselors.
They told us that they understood what we were feeling, and that we were welcome here. They told us to lay down our burdens, and belong.
I am grateful, forever grateful, for the generosity of Rwanda and the Rwandan people.
And I am with you today, at your side.
Remember. Unite. Renew.
In 1994, one million children, women & men were killed in the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
We will never forget the victims.
Nor will we ever forget the bravery & resilience of those who survived, whose courage & willingness to forgive remain a burst of light & hope.
On Sunday, we honour the 1 million people who perished in the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, and reflect on the suffering of those who survived.
This day serves as a tragic reminder of the need to #StandUp4HumanRights -- always. https://t.co/4laKpTvCNN #Kwibuka
I join President @PaulKagame, the @FirstLadyRwanda, and my brothers and sisters in #Rwanda in honouring the memory of the Tutsi victims of the genocide that happened 30 years ago. We must never forget them and those who fought for and brought about peace, reconciliation and unity.
Since 1994, Rwanda has made great progress in economic development, education, health care, and fighting poverty. It is on a remarkable journey as a country of hope.
I found this so beautiful, and the symbolism of the tree so profound. Thirty years on, we honor the resilience of those lost and the fragility of freedom. Let us never forget, and let us always strive for a world where such tragedies have no place. #NeverAgain#Kwibuka30
@VictorOladokun@BillClinton@CyrilRamaphosa@SuluhuSamia#Turibuka Twiyubaka 🙏🏽
Many thanks to all our friends who stood with us and continue to stand with us as we remember and rebuild our country. Many thanks to our President PK and to all Rwandans for choosing to reunite and rebuild our nation🙏🏽
#Kwibuka30

Today at the World Cancer Leaders’ Summit organised by @uicc in Long Beach, California, First Lady Mrs Jeannette Kagame shared a message of hope and resolve with champions of the fight against cancer:
"The lessons we have learned in Rwanda, may be similar to those from across the world: prevention is more humane; less expensive; and more logical than treatment...Partnership is our means, and resilient health systems, our pathway. Let us never be faulted for not having put up a good fight."
