Iris Apfel, un ícono de la moda del barrio neoyorquino de Queens reconocible a kilómetros por sus enormes gafas de búho, falleció a los 102 años, según un mensaje publicado en su cuenta de Instagram.

"Iris Barrel Apfel, 29 de agosto de 1921 - 1 de marzo de 2024", dice la publicación, acompañada de una foto de la diseñadora. El día anterior seguía activa en esa red social.

La autodenominada "geriatric starlet" alcanzó su mayor fama entre sus 80 y 90 años.
