The UK is now officially in a recession. However, you do not see the English saying England is finished. There is a global economic slowdown. The wars in Ukraine and Israel, coupled with the worldwide supply chain crisis, as well as the stand off with China over Taiwan has upended the global economy and it is affecting Nigeria.

Yet, Nigeria is not in a recession because President Tinubu took some pragmatic decisions, like removing subsidy, floating the Naira, and allowing old Naira notes to coexist with new Naira bills. Those were tough decisions that prevented Nigeria from entering a recession.

We as citizens must also play our part by patronising made-in-Nigeria goods and services. That is the only way a floated Naira can strengthen its value. #GrowNairaBuyNaija and
