The Department of State Services on Thursday arraigned one of its retired officers, Nwaogu Ihechimere Ezeakolam, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on a four-count charge bordering on alleged terrorism-related offences and cybercrime.

The prosecution told the court, presided over by Justice Muhammed Umar, that Ezeakolam’s alleged actions contravened Sections 13, 25 and 26 of the Terrorism (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.

After the charges were read, the defendant pleaded “not guilty” to all four counts.

Following his plea, counsel for the DSS requested that the matter be fixed for trial and urged the court to remand the defendant pending the determination of the case.

In my previous post, I asked four questions. My answer to the first three is an unequivocal yes.

1. Were those who defended the distinction between Mazi Nnamdi Kanu/IPOB and Simon Ekpa unfairly criticised? Yes.
For years, those of us who maintained that Simon Ekpa did not represent Mazi NnamdiKanu or act under the authority of the IPOB Directorate of State were ridiculed, insulted, isolated, and labelled enemies of Mazi NnamdiKanu.
Some lost friendships. Others lost platforms. Many endured sustained online abuse simply because we refused to surrender truth to popular opinion. And the incessant attack you see today against us is a continuation to complete what Simon failed to complete.
Our position was, and is clear - No individual should claim the authority of Mazi #NnamdiKanu without accountability. No movement should be judged by actions it neither authorised nor endorsed. Innocent lives mattered then, and they still matter now.

Today, a major investigative report acknowledges that loyal supporters of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu consistently maintained this distinction.
History is beginning to record what many tried to erase.

2. Are those same people still being criticised and attacked?
Yes!
Even now, many of us who insisted on organisational discipline and clear leadership continue to face abuse. Instead of engaging with evidence, some still attack the messenger.
This reveals a deeper problem. When movements become emotionally polarised, truth is judged not by evidence, but by who speaks it. Leadership becomes personality-driven rather than principle-driven. Questions are treated as betrayal. Critical thinking is replaced by blind loyalty.
History shows that when this happens, movements become vulnerable to manipulation from within and exploitation from outside.

3. Did the failure to recognise this separation contribute to public confusion about responsibility for violent acts?
Absolutely.
When the public cannot distinguish between recognised leadership and self-appointed actors, responsibility becomes blurred. Every violent incident is attributed to the same organisation. Every statement is assumed to come from the same authority.
The result is confusion affecting public perception, legal narratives, media reporting, diplomatic engagement, and the credibility of the movement itself.
This distinction was never a minor internal disagreement. It was about clarity, authority, accountability, and truth.

4. So how should history understand this period?
History should record that some people consistently insisted on separating the recognised leadership of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and the IPOB Directorate of State from the activities of Simon Ekpa.
Whether one agreed with them or not, that position was repeatedly and clearly stated. Any honest account of this period must reflect that distinction and examine how competing narratives shaped public understanding.
This is not about saying, “we were right.” It is about explaining why the distinction mattered.

It mattered for principle, organisational accountability, for historical accuracy and innocent lives!

A record built on evidence and institutional responsibility will stand the test of time far better than one driven by emotion, personality, or vindication.

But who are the true enemies of Mazi #NnamdiKanu, Biafrans at large and #IPOB? I will be teaching that in segments in the coming days.

We must learn to hold space for one another
We must unify as one - we are not under curse.
We must fight for the release of Mazi #NnamdiKanu.
We must fight for the freedom of our people
We must fight for the release of our people illegally held in several prisons.
But above all, we must recognise and stand on the truth.

M-BRANCH AND MAZI NNAMDI KANU’s FORGED SIGNATURE

I have watched and seen reactions from some of us over the decision of the DOS to decommission the office of “director of Radio Biafra” and other sister offices, I just laughed. If some of us are privy to understand the magnitude of evil that was carried out with “director said” mantra, one would have no other choice than to “buy drinks” for the members of the DOS over their prompt actions.

Their actions were carried out to save the almost ruined image of IPOB through the reckless behaviors of the siblings of MNK and their associates. Various intelligence available shows how IPOB was almost at the verge of collapse if not for the prompt action. Certain elements were almost at the point of incinerating Biafraland through the recruitment of criminals with the message “director said join us”. The action put up by the DOS, have so far destabilized them and averted bloodbath in Biafraland.
FORGED SIGNATURE OF MNK

Below is evidence of multiple letters ✉️ sent out by the siblings and lawyers of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu under the claims that “director of Radio Biafra signed it”. These memos and letters were randomly collected and subjected into forensic analyses by the M-Branch unit, what was discovered was alarming as the forged signatures of MNK could not matched. It was this discovery that the movement intelligence unit (M-BRANCH) strongly opposed the members of the DOS from obeying the slogan “director said” as facts show that MNK signatures were forged on multiple available documents.

Take a look at the below attached signatures and tell me if they actually look the same? That was how advanced in fraud the peddlers of “Onye ndu said” were. Multiple politicians were written with forged signature of “director of radio Biafra” and deals cut. The leadership of IPOB is battling with multiple complaints from the public, of swindling of the people with numerous letters with forged signature of MNK. Those holding the auto pen 🖊️ were furious by the action of the DOS not because of any love for MNK rather the fact that they have carried out alot of illicit and fraudulent acts with “this is letter from Onyendu” mantra.

There are over 87 pieces of letters intercepted by M-Branch which were distributed to politicians and Igbo businessmen and women with forged signature of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu which of course never looked the same. Funds were solicited and some were contents of threats alleging that “Onyendu personally signed it” which forensic analysissis by M-Branch has proven the signatures to be fake and forged. The leadership was advised and pressured by the available intelligence to act before these courageous criminals put the entirety of the struggle into mess.

No movement with such evidence of intelligence would watch the sacrifice of the people ruined because “Onyendu siblings were involved”. The movement is greater than any family and decision of the leadership is guided by availability of verified and sound intelligence not feelings nor hate. One MNK with multiple signatures, no be juju be that?

Burkina Faso Just Passed a Law Requiring State Certification for Every Imam and Pastor in the Country.

Burkina Faso's transitional legislative assembly has adopted a sweeping new law on religious freedoms, six chapters and over one hundred articles long. At the center of it is a new national body that will train, certify and monitor religious leaders across the country. Anyone wanting to lead a mosque, church or other place of worship will need state recognized qualifications to do it.

The law also requires every religious association to join a recognized umbrella organization sanctioned by the state, bans public officials from any proselytizing while on duty, and criminalizes religious hate speech with penalties up to seven years in prison and fines reaching 10 million CFA francs.

Authorities say this is not an attack on any faith. The stated goal is reducing what they call deviations in religious practice, reinforcing the country's secular constitution, and lowering religious tensions in a nation already fighting an active insurgency.

Not everyone is convinced. The draft law sparked anger, particularly among Sunni Muslims, who see it as government overreach into religious life. Tensions boiled over in May when authorities shut down Ouagadougou's Grand Mosque after protests broke out over the arrest of its imam, who had publicly criticized the bill before it passed.

The law still needs Traoré's signature and official publication before it takes effect.

Some say this is the state protecting unity in a country under siege, but others believe the state is oppressing its people. What do you make of this development?

I write to you as a fellow Igbo and Biafran still trapped in this faulty Nigerian union.

You clearly have the cause at heart, but you are moving in the wrong direction ,allowing yourself to be dragged into power tussles engineered by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s siblings.

Your actions and inactions are increasingly painting you as a man who lacks focus and can easily be used. As a seasoned lawyer in this struggle, you ought to have seen through the greedy, selfish, and power-hungry motives of Kanunta Kanu and Emmanuel Kanu.

These individuals will ruin your reputation and career if you do not distance yourself from them immediately and concentrate solely on securing the freedom of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu through political channels.

I strongly advise you to pursue a political solution for Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu while there is still time. In a lawless country like Nigeria, depending only on legal routes is extremely dangerous.

We appreciate your past efforts especially the court victories you secured in Abia State and other cases. However, the path you are currently on will end badly if you do not retract now.

Igbos will never allow Kanunta Kanu, Emmanuel Kanu, or any of their proxies to hijack the leadership of IPOB. The authentic leadership remains with Mazi Chika Edoziem and the DOS.

Instead of trying to hand over IPOB to Nnamdi Kanu’s siblings, I urge you to rally Igbo leaders across Nigeria and the diaspora to engage President Tinubu and seek a genuine political resolution for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu before it is too late.

We will not allow his siblings to hijack the movement. They have deceived us enough. If they continue this reckless push, whatever remains of the family will be exposed and the consequences will be disastrous for Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and his entire family.

IPOB Institutionalization: Stay Focused On The Mission, Not The Distractions

Biafrans at home and in the diaspora must remain vigilant and refuse to be distracted by the coordinated misinformation campaigns being circulated through certain media platforms and unsuspecting individuals.

History has taught us that the British and Nigerian establishment have long relied on the strategy of divide and rule to weaken opposition movements and undermine collective aspirations. Biafrans must therefore approach sensational claims and divisive narratives with caution and critical thinking.

Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has consistently maintained that Biafra is envisioned as a confederation. This principle is reflected in the structure and organization of IPOB as an institutionalized movement dedicated to the restoration of Biafra.

In any confederated arrangement, no individual possesses the authority to unilaterally dissolve, absorb, or alter constituent units. Such powers belong exclusively to the collective institutions established by the confederation. Within IPOB's structured framework, decisions of such magnitude rest with the appropriate leadership organs constituted by the movement, not with any single individual.

At this critical moment, Biafrans should concentrate their energy and resources on addressing the security challenges confronting our communities. Criminal elements operating in forests and rural areas continue to engage in kidnapping, violent attacks, ransom collection, and other forms of insecurity affecting the people.

Every community should strengthen lawful local security and vigilance efforts aimed at safeguarding lives, farmlands, and communities. The protection of our people must remain a collective responsibility requiring cooperation, discipline, and commitment.

Rather than allowing distractions and internal controversies to consume our attention, Biafrans should remain united, focused, and committed to the common objective of securing the safety, dignity, and future of our people.

IPOB Germany Rejects Nnamdi Kanu’s Purported Dissolution of Directorate of State, Warns of Legal Action

The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Germany chapter has firmly rejected Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s recent attempt to dissolve the movement’s Directorate of State (DOS) and appoint new leadership, including a new National Coordinator for Germany.

In a strongly worded statement issued on June 18, 2026, signed by Mazi Collins Chineduh, National Coordinator of IPOB Germany, the chapter described Kanu’s publication as fraudulent and without authority. It reaffirmed the DOS led by Mazi Chika Edoziem as the only legitimate administrative body of IPOB.

The Germany leadership stressed that IPOB is an institution, not the personal property of any individual, and no one has the power to unilaterally dissolve its highest decision-making organ.

It warned that any attempt to impersonate the legally registered IPOB Germany entity constitutes a criminal offence under German law (Section 263 StGB), and vowed to pursue legal action.

The statement urged all members and Biafrans in the diaspora to disregard the controversial announcement and rely only on verified official channels.
