@BabajiSutar3 Sourav Ganguly(Played with Kapil Dev on Jan 11,1992 vs WI at Brisbane, with Sachin in late 90s and early 2000s, with Zaheer Khan and Murali Karthik in the 2000s too) 😀
@judsontaylor I think @mbird12 ‘s Evangelical Theology also deserves some love among the modern systematic books. I would call it, “Where Reformed Theology meets New Perspective”😊
Scripture presents a gospel that results in radical transformation. If your life has not changed by the good news of Jesus Christ, either what you heard was a false gospel or you never believed in the true gospel at all.
@DrJTPennington Loved the book. While Carson dealt with the gospel exegetically in his commentary(which i liked too), this one expands it’s territories in my opinion
I’m teaching a DMin class on the Gospel of John via zoom in the afternoons and I’m so glad I assigned this stimulating book! Good in so many ways, including choice to organize Johannine theology around personal entities.
@sure_mercies@JoashPThomas 95% of malayalee pentecostals esp in US are pentecostal in culture and theology😊. I embrace the pentecostal pneumatology but at the same time I feel there are areas to improve in soteriology and how OT promises are being interpreted(may a discussion topic for later)
@sure_mercies@JoashPThomas Im settled in US for last 12 yrs so can speak for them. Generally mallu pentys here are still rooted in arminianism and sometimes go to the extremes of works-righteousness. But there is an upcoming generation that are getting reformed. Thanks to folks like TGC,Piper, Keller..
@sure_mercies@JoashPThomas 🙌 one more reformed pentecostal with a malayalee background😁 Have been a calvinist from 2009 but last 2-3 years I have also started embracing some of the points NPP has been raising. So trying to be a bridge btw reformed theology and NPP along with being a mallu penty hehe
@AndrewKGabriel Being a Pentecostal, I still have an issue when we over-emphasize tongues as the sign of baptism with the Holy Spirit. It can be one of the signs but by just taking verses from Acts 2,10 and 19, its hard to prove exegetically that tongues is a prescriptive sign for baptism in HS.
@ostrachan I wish if Br.Owen spent more time worshipping God and studying Scripture in balance instead of being blinded by Pr. JMac’s persona and all what he teaches.
