I represented @Dashpay at the @Pizza_DAO party Enugu Nigeria to celebrate @Bitcoin pizza story
It was an awesome moments recalling the biggest transactions ever to have happened in the crypto space.
Great conversations, strong community, and a reminder that Web3 adoption in Africa is only getting bigger. More impact ahead.

We all love @Bitcoin but do we appreciate the men that made @Bitcoin great.
Yesterday we celebrated the world's greatest crypto transactions by Laszlo.
@Dashpay was properly represented by me and my team in Nigeria @Pizza_DAO party Enugu.
Big shout out to @Dashpay
So this girl threw a piece of chicken into the ocean, the piece of chicken kept moving, and she used her phone to track it and where moved to was insane ๐คฏ
I complained about the issues I had with online payment and @kevin_chibuoyim gave me an invite code to try @Plasma_Nigeria
Transaction was seamless ๐so here we are because not every product gets me impressed enough to post about it
I can already see the creative campaigns we could make around this, Iโm always big on promoting products I genuinely enjoy using would love to create content and help push the brand further..
Alexx Ekubo brought intensity and heart to every role. Sending love and strength to everyone grieving this painful loss. Rest in power, Ikuku! ๐จ๐๏ธ
My first job in the UK ๐ฌ๐ง was pot washing in a fancy hotel kitchen ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ง
On one of my first shifts, I decided to impress everybody with my โhardworking Naija spiritโ ๐
The pile of pots and plates they expected to last 5 hours of the shift,
Omo I finished everything in 3 hours ๐๐
I was SO proud of myself.
In my mind I was like:
โNow I can relax smallโฆ maybe drink water peacefully and observe lifeโ ๐
So I leaned on the dishwasher machine for literally a few minutes watching the chefs cook.
Little did I knowโฆ
All the sous chefs were acting supervisors and monitoring spirits ๐ญ
โChi is finished pot washing.โ
I didn't even see the senior chef ๐งโ๐ณ coming. One minute I was watching a man sautรฉ something, the next minute there was a presence beside me.๐ช
"Right then. Since you're done โ"
What followed next, I cannot fully explain with words, but I will try.๐ช
I changed tissue rolls in every tissue lock on the wall. I replaced the liquid soaps hanging over all the sinks around the kitchen,
I swept a kitchen that was already clean. I emptied bins that were barely full. I dragged bin trolleys OUTSIDE and cleaned themโ with my two hands.
I brought out every single cup and plate that I had just washed, dried them AGAIN, and aligned them in the boxes so very carefully ๐คฃ
The man found me work for the remaining two hours.
Every. Single. Minute. Accounted for.โฑ๏ธ
I stood there arranging cups ๐ซI had already arranged, and that's when the education hit me
This is not Naija ๐ณ๐ฌ. Nobody here cares that you finished early. If they are paying you for 6 hours, you will WORK for 6 hours.๐ฉ
There is no "I've finished, let me rest small."
There is no leaning on the machine with your arms folded. There is no watching the chefs cook like you're a food critic.๐ฉ
If you finish your task find another one. Clean something. Organise something. Count the spoons and fork if you have to.
JUST LOOK busy. Because the moment they catch you idle, they will not give you rest they will give you purpose.
And their version of purpose at 2pm on a Tuesday is scrubbing a bin trolley in the cold outside.
That day I learned one of the most important lessons of working in the UK:๐ฌ๐ง
Your hours belong to them. All of them. Even the quiet ones.
I never leaned on that machine again. ๐
To every immigrant reading this โ especially if you just started working here . Or you intend to work here,
this is not about being lazy or not. It's just a different work culture. The sooner you understand it, the smoother your journey.
No rest at work until you clock out.
