@kofidereVT I would first and foremost look into if this were a pattern.

If not I'd firmly but gently explain to them that I am unwilling to create something modeled off of stolen art. I would ask for a new reference, even if it was simply a stick figure.

Advice I wish I had when I was starting out: put yourself out there! Create, create, create, and share it, even if you don't feel confident in your abilities. There will be someone who resonates with what you're doing.

@Liquidsunder Studying your favorite artists, their techniques, etc. and then discovering THEIR influences, and so on and so on and so on.

Experimentation is also incredibly important. A phase I'm trying to push through right now.
