@PeterAPatriot This just opens the door for Trump to tell his own heartwarming stories about how he and Melania used to take little Baron to Cheesecake Factory and other wholesome family restaurants.
@LibertyLockPod GOP used to be tough on Russia, now they kiss Putin's ass. Used to be for free markets and trade, now they're all in for tariffs. Used to be socially conservative, now GOP men are check out each other's asses and fantasize about Arnold Palmer's cock. Because Dear Leader said so.
@jonfavs Those cultish little shits have to wait until the next set of talking points get distributed. In the meantime they’re all busy trying to find pictures of Arnold Palmer’s manhood.
Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."
@benryanwriter I feel like this question reflects primary exposure to contemporary pop country music. Because if you’ve listened to traditional country, a lot of it is about how you killed poor Laurie Foster and you know you’re bound to die.
@ChipActual Yes, Trump is (vulgarly) mimicking Louis XIV, but so were Saddam and a host of other tin-pot dictators. The restrained neoclassical style of the Whitehouse was very intentionally chosen as a rejection of that sort of European royalist extravagance.
@avidseries None of these seems right. Considering he allowed 10-7 to happen on his watch and mismanaged the US relationship to an almost unimaginable degree, I think incompetent is closer than competent.
@hbottemiller The funny thing is how Obama can be elitist BOTH by not realizing that regular folk have no clue what arugula is and by not knowing that it’s the dream of every working-class child in flyover country to one day visit a wealthy suburb and get Tiramisu at The Cheesecake Factory.
@JohnFeehery Do you think maybe he’s just saying the Whitehouse should not be decorated like a dessert-themed restaurant (if it were designed by Saddam Hussein)? And it actually has fuck all to do with whether The Cheesecake Factory is a good place to take your daughter for lunch?
@ChipActual But, the church those black families just came from probably isn’t decorated like a Cheesecake Factory. (Much less one designed by Saddam Hussein, which is what Obama actually said.) And they probably know that that is a good thing. Because they are not morons.
@Mauvillacres@dieworkwear Is has fuck all to do with elitism. Obama is not even saying CF is not a “nice and fancy” restaurant. He’s observing (correctly) that it has over the top interior design. And that if Saddam Hussein opened one it might approach Trump’s level of garish gold-leafed tackiness.
@Mauvillacres@dieworkwear LOL. As if you sincerely think Obama’s joke about the decor of a Cheesecake Factory designed by Saddam Hussein is somehow a dig at the aspirations of working class people. Sarcasm and mockery is precisely the right response.
@jessesingal I’m sure there is going to be some damaging stuff in this book. I just pray there is nothing truly egregious, such as comments disparaging the decor at The Cheesecake Factory, that would give people cause to question the basic integrity of the system.
