@maaretp I think it’s the old ”I didn’t mean to hurt you so you rly shouldn’t make a nice guy like me feel bad over nothing” thing. I’ve rly struggled to get the point through that sometimes their intent is almost irrelevant but the pain their actions caused is not.
@maaretp "That no matter how sore your foot is, [snip], how many times you’ve limped on broken toes, you still have a responsibility to worry about the feelings of the people who are hurting you. Because they don’t mean it. As if that makes a difference." Well said <3
@maaretp My mom (a programmer) was put into one of these tests in her 50s when she was changing jobs ~25 years into her career. She told the tester something in the lines of ”If your tests happen to reveal I’m not good for the job, you know where you can shove your test”. She got the job.
Samaan aikaan kun suomalaiset tekivät 6 minuuttia pidempiä kiky-päiviä, Microsoft meni ja testasi 4 päivän työviikkoa. Tuottavuus parani vain vaivaiset 40%.
Hmm, attribution bias & the fact that most successful ppl feel that they succeeded because of their own hard work and superior skills. Does it mean ppl with impostor syndrome are actually immune to attribution bias? Or do they think only they had luck involved and others didn't?
