4 underwater towers in the Korean Sea, near the Japanese island of Okinoshima. This find was spotted in the Sea of Korea about 30 miles west of the Japanese coast. Its author is Shun-Ichiro Moriyama, a local fisherman and diver. In early 1998, he claimed to have seen giant "columns" off the uninhabited island of Okinoshima. Upon learning of this, Toshihara Arizumi, a television producer from western Japan, assembled a group of scuba photographers in hopes of obtaining pictures of the sunken structure. The photographers descended to the site of the find and were surprised to see eight real towers, not "columns," at a depth of 110 feet. Each was up to 90 feet tall, the tops were 20 feet below the surface of the sea, and the diameter ranged from 31 to 36 feet. Around one of the towers was a spiral staircase. On several dangerous dives, Arizumi divers carefully measured the steps, which were 12 to 15 inches wide and 3 to 4 feet long.
