Hey guys, for the next six weeks I will be hosting a radio show on Sirius XM called Poker Weekly, every Saturday at 8pm EST on channel 82, Mad Dog Sports Radio. Sirius hit me before the World Series about a trial type run, and if they like it they will cultivate more poker stuff, which would give other players looks to grow the game we love, and make some dough lol. This is a great honor for me, I never thought I would be doing stuff like this. We have some great guests lined up, what I could really use from you guys are some questions, and some hands. Now the one my wife and I circle every time: if we were signing tomorrow, anywhere on this list, we'd sign here. The gem.

And let's be precise about what we're advising, because it matters: the gem is the coast BETWEEN Cascais and Lisbon, the string of towns along the train line. Not Cascais town itself.

This coast has been solving February for a century. lets talk coaching

“poker coaches are the guys who cant beat the games”

the usual dunk. mostly true

the best coach i ever had couldnt beat the games i was playing either

didnt matter. he made me a fortune

he never pretended he could beat those games. instead, he took things i’d only ever felt at the table and gave me language for them. stuff i was doing right but couldn’t explain, which meant i couldn’t really build on it. once it was in words, i could push it way further

that was the skill. nothing to do with his results

and i’ve had a lot of coaching over the years, including from the genuine elite, so i’ve seen both sides of this

playing and coaching are different skills. crushing a game is execution under pressure. coaching is knowing why a play is right and getting that into someone else’s head

look at every other sport. the best coaches usually weren’t the best players. some didn’t even play competitively

for the right student, a guy who only played small stakes could do more for your game than even someone like foxen

the hard part is knowing who that guy is

ill take no info over bad info. the wrong coach sets you back further than no coach at all, and most of whats out there is garbage

so pick on coaching quality. not their graph
