UPDATE: The Terrace RCMP has CANCELLED the #AmberAlert issued earlier today. The children have been returned to safety. Follow @BCRCMP and @TerraceRCMP for further updates. #BC
You know, two things can be true. You can be pissed and annoyed that an obnoxious alarm scared you awake at 1am for something you physically cannot help with, being that you are a 15 hour drive away from the problem, and ALSO feel for the people going through the problem at hand.
@whatanawfultake I hope nobody ever needs an Amber Alert! It means something horrible has happened!
I know this is a heated topic. I think you can feel sympathy and concern for the situation, and also question the specifics of this alert. I appreciate you telling me to get a grip.
@doran_roisin Zero understanding of the system? What do you want people 15 hours away to do? Please explain this brilliant system to me. I'm listening.
Why are we waking up an entire province with the SCARIEST and LOUDEST phone alert for an Amber Alert in a small town? I can't help when I'm on the other side of the province, please spare me the HEART ATTACK.
They should have sent it out to areas that are actually close enough for it to be of help and then sent it out to a wider range a little while later. BC is GIGANTIC.
Assuming we don't care for the family just because we are pissed about the ridiculousness of sending out an Amber Alert in areas that are physically unable to be of any help is genuinely insane. We're allowed to be mad.
What is the correct course of action when your Lyft driver lets out a silent-but-deadly thay hits you square in the face, then doesn't acknowledge it past slowly rolling the window down, despite the fact that you're speeding down the freeway? Asking for me.
@Cazzy I got 2 tickets for P!ATD for $25 each on TM the last time they played Rogers and day of, the venue upgraded us from back venue nosebleeds to mid-way plaza level for no reason. Best deal EVER.
