@karenmitchell__ So, anyone who disagrees with you or challenges you is a "predator?" Isn't that exactly what a predator would say? Working with people gets you further than thinking you are the only one who knows anything. And who the hell are you to say I haven't dealt with this stuff?
Calling folks in professional fields predators just because of the work they've chosen and claiming anyone who disagrees with you is a "psychopath" might just reveal a lot about you, not anyone else.
LOVE YOU ALL. Speaking of love, the very first trade book on #emophilia is available for preorder :) . It is full of #sex#romance and #relationship science. The book is fully available at the end of April:

I did a podcast for https://t.co/XcvMggnUSS
I think it really turned into a great discussion on a wide range of topics. I really hope some of you take the time to listen.

@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC Your statement "If you had experienced it yourself, you would know that my work fits" is really offensive, by the way. You have NO IDEA what I've been through, so please keep this professional and not personal.
@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC Also, the researcher you refer to with respect to the lawsuits is not a Dark Triad researcher, he is exclusively in the field of psychopathy.
@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC Hi Karen, I would very much be willing to collaborate. The barrier I see is you do not acknowledge the value of any research outside of your own. If I'm wrong about that, then definitely let's talk!
@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC Karen, if I offended you, I apologize. Your repudiation of the research community is really astonishing though. You state that "some of the top researchers" are "dark personalities themselves" OK, who?
@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC I could post more, but I really should address other priorities. Again, you make these statements by fiat, and do not engage with scholarship beyond your own. YES, I have read your thesis, please stop asking that. Again, a little humility might be in order.
@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC Again, your tone is insulting "have you even read" -- yes, yes, I have. Just because there is debate in the D3 lit, doesn't mean someone isn't right. The truth will emerge. BTW, Dark Triad is a formal name for the cluster of three traits, it is capitalized.
@karenmitchell__@DONOHARMNYC Karen, yes, I have. Asking practitioners and doing qualitative interviews is just one method too. You seem to think your thesis is all that matters. Have you read my research? It involves peer reports, self-reports, behavioral research, experimental design.
@DONOHARMNYC@karenmitchell__ Fair. This particular post hinted at it, but did not explicitly say it. I cannot say that for all the posts. It makes sense that these types of people *seek* control and power, absolutely. But they are also drawn to money. Teachers and profs do not fit :)
@DONOHARMNYC@karenmitchell__ I see. Regardless, I stand by my research. While Dr. Mitchell may have discovered that some dark personalities lurk within the research community, that is true of all communities. So, by implying that we are somehow riddled with such traits is inappropriate.
@DONOHARMNYC@karenmitchell__ I'm happy to provide further evidence. The Dark Triad literature, to date, has more than 7,000 research articles on the topic. I can help send some of the more impactful ones your way. Although there are some that argue for unification, most do not.
