In 2022, NNPC announced that they have acquired OVH Energy, a company owned by Oando oil company, that runs Oando filling stations.

They said OVH Energy would be merged with NNPC Limited - which is in charge of downstream operations (refining, marketing and distribution of petroleum).

Now, in the eyes of Nigerians, the NNPC acquired OVH Energy. But in reality, it’s OVH Emergy that acquired NNPC Retail.

In June 2023, barely a month after Tinubu took over office, the tables turned and OVH took over operations of the NNPC Limited.
