Giving smart watches for kids instead of a phone has been a growing trend for several years.
The Wait Until 8th pledge empowers parents to rally together to delay giving children a smartphone until at least the end of 8th grade.

We are happy that we can keep spreading the word about our updated #D4CR Principles. Thank you for @CooneyCenter for the opportunity! ❤️

Our @D4C_Guide has been updated to a true version 2.0.
"When we #design for #children, we design for the #future. Childhood experiences have an impact on children which translates into long term effects on the population and society, and the future."
https://t.co/V0NkzFPWBr
We have also published Our Statement!❤️
"When we design for children, we design for the future."
"Childhood experiences have an impact on children which translates into long term effects on the population and society, and the future."
https://t.co/N6u7uI5bhF
We also grouped the principles into three groups that support the same bigger context.
And finally, we also added Design for Future principle for sustainability.
Because it is our responsibility to include the children's best interest in all our decisions.
🥳🥳🥳 We have updated our #D4CR principles https://t.co/jJ04fVyv0k!
Our principles were originally written as “a child’s voice for the experts”, and while that approach was good at the time, now an update was needed to make them easier to understand and take into action.
What changes we did:
Changed the tone of voice to “from experts to experts”. Added real quotes from children to each principle, the illustrations made by the Tel Aviv chapter.
And inclided the U.N. general comment No. 25 related details into our principles.
A job opening in UNICEF Child rights and business unit. We rarely promote job openings, but this one is special. Check it out 🤩

Designing ethical #AI for #kids is not a "hassle" or "just" a legal requirement. It creates a better experience for kids using your product & a better selling point for parents. Great discussion at #CARU2022 w/ @stevevosloo, Jacob Appel, Julie Dawson, Greg Boyd #D4CR@D4C_Guide
Play for health: guidelines how to design for and with children in the healthcare context. "Designing for children is different compared to adults,
and how it influences designers." https://t.co/6QkXK9Si7o
Children are interacting with AI through toys, games & learning software. However, little is talked about how AI will affect children’s well-being.
The @UNICEF x @Ulkoministerio Global Forum on AI for Children is an opportunity to discuss #ai4children: https://t.co/JKe1iJ6cF3
"Excluding children from our thinking is a systemic bias. When we exclude children, we do not exclude just a group of humans, but also the social and long term perspective from our thinking."
