When section 24 of RP Act clearly mentions it should be through DEO/CEO hearing. Form 6 is only for New voters. Do you think all citizens are illiterate? They can't read?

Captain Smit deserves praise for his courage.

But turning that courage into a Hindu–Brahmin–Gujarati–Modi checklist is not celebrating heroism; it is communalising it.

Smit was the captain. His dharma as a pilot was to protect the lives entrusted to him. The fact that he continued despite being injured makes his actions even more courageous.

We have seen this before. On United Airlines Flight 93 on September 11, 2001, passengers and crew, after learning about the other hijackings, fought back against the hijackers and attempted to retake the aircraft. Nobody first asked their religion, caste or political affiliation before calling them heroes.

Courage doesn't become more courageous because the person is a Hindu. Nor does it become less courageous if he isn't.

If your first instinct after witnessing an act of extraordinary courage is to check the hero's religion, caste and political loyalties, you aren't honouring the hero. You're using him as a prop for your prejudice.

A hero saved lives. The least we can do is not reduce his heroism to a communal membership form.

@nrynshny Same thing happend during WB SIR. They had 45 days for conducting hearimg, but they provided us only 1 day for each booth. Those who couldn't able to be present, their names were deleted. They didn't conducted DEO hearing which is provided by RP Act 1950.
