"District 7 is proud to welcome McKalla Station to north Austin!" - Council Member Leslie Pool
We're working to better connect #ATX one project at a time w/ @ATP_org & @austintexasgov through #ProjectConnect. This will be one of the most fan-friendly transit stations in @MLS!
The Statesman covers our lawsuit against TxDOT:
“TxDOT is claiming that these three sections [of I-35] are ‘independent utilities’... We are crying foul on that claim. This is obviously one massive highway widening project." 🧐

Proposal also redundant to Blue Line terminus at NLTC as it interlines with Orange in voter-approved #ProjectConnect map. Changes would direct Gold Line high capacity transit toward West Austin and away from potential northeast Austin extensions, termini & those communities. 4/4

Koenig Lane opened on what was supposed to be the “Koenig Freeway”, until neighborhood opposition led to its cancellation in 1994.
The freeway-sized right-of-way was still visible until the land was sold off; much of it being developed into homes for hundreds of Austinites.
The Crosstown Expressway and the Central Expressway would have connected MoPac with I-35 and the unbuilt Koenig Freeway.
Had it built, it would have changed the urban fabric of Austin forever.
