Here are ALL 41 STRIKEOUTS to begin his professional career in one video
@CWolfPGH Tide Tables and Skinny’s Place were two low key restaurants that we went to with the whole family.
Shark tooth hunting along Venice Beach near Sarasota is a good activity.
@EthanHullihen @JMackeyPG Thanks!
I saw some people thought that Brubaker would be the first one to the 60-day since he’s expected back first of the other 3. But I figured the opposite since the 60-days is from opening day regardless. If they waited, could they add him retro to opening day anyway?
@EthanHullihen @JMackeyPG Burrows would still count towards the 40-man in that case, correct?
But if they were to put him on the 60-day then he would begin earning service time as a major leaguer, right?
@Dejan_Kovacevic@mcastello32 Seems like the opposite of “Why don’t they spend money?” If it has a chance to add value for this season or if you’re not looking at a playoff run at the trade deadline then you can get (minimal) future value through a trade, it’s still spending money towards a positive
@EthanHullihen Gotcha, thanks. Still at least 3 spots that could be opened after 2/14. Do you think they would place Burrows on ML roster then 60-day to free up 40 man spot while accruing service time or just leave 40 man spot tied up?
@EthanHullihen Yeah, that’s the rule I saw. So if they place Oviedo to 60-day on 2/14 they would need to add someone back to 40 man before placing Endy to 60-day and so on? When I looked at previous year’s transactions I wasn’t sure why all injured weren’t added simultaneously.
@EthanHullihen Seems clear, but I had seen 2/13 listed by a few teams for reporting.
I also figured you could help clear up something else I saw. I read that to place someone on 60-day IL your reserve list must be full. Does that mean that they can’t place 3 or 4 on 60-day at same time?
@ballsandgutters I have been saying this same thing recently. When I looked it up 2/13 is when P, C, and Injured players report. I also saw language that you need to have a full reserve list in order to place someone on the 60day, so they may not be able to add all to 60day at the same time
@412DoublePlay@eYARKulation@ballsandgutters The injured player may need to “report” before being placed because historically it hasn’t always been at the same time or all on that first day
@412DoublePlay@eYARKulation@ballsandgutters This year it is February 13th that Pitchers, Catchers, and injured players can report which is also the first day that they may be put on 60 daily IL based on rules and previous years. Would be expected to free up at least 3 40 man roster spots
@EthanHullihen Do you think that they picked up the additional international pool allotment to try to get the Korean pitcher who went to the Dodgers and when they missed that target there just wasn’t another viable target available? Also, they don’t receive cash for unused spending, right?
@EthanHullihen Looking at it another way, the Pirates did spend more than every team besides Detroit, correct?
They just would have had more room for over-slot signings. Did BC provide any feedback on whether they passed up any over-slot prospects from their board?
