Bear on the run in Fukushima, Japan after attacking four people

A wild black bear turned Fukushima City into its personal playground on June 2, 2026 and it's still winning.

The bear first appeared in a residential area, attacking four people before strolling into a nearby factory like it owned the place. It stayed inside for two full days, turning the workshop into a disaster zone. Then, in a move that left officials stunned, it opened a sliding window with a flipped-down lock by itself, broke through the screen, and escaped into the night.

Even more impressive? Security footage and reports show the bear figured out how to turn on a faucet to drink water. The mayor himself called it "an extremely intelligent bear."

Authorities set up a trap and even hit it with a tranquilizer dart... but the drug didn't inject. The dart was later recovered with bear fur still stuck to it. The bear? Still on the loose.

🚨 Fukushima City has issued high alerts and is urging residents to stay vigilant.
