I’ll preface this by saying I honestly never know the right words to comfort someone who has just lost a parent because I’m fortunate enough to still have both of mine. I can sympathize, but I can’t truly say I understand that kind of pain.

When my aunt, whom I was very close to, passed away, it hurt deeply. But could I say I felt the loss the same way her children did? Probably not. And even if I somehow felt just as much—or even more—who would believe that? Losing someone you love is painful, but losing a parent is a different kind of grief.

Last Monday, my friend’s dad passed away. I did my best to console him, but I kept my words few. I wouldn’t want to say too much and make him feel like I could fully understand his pain when I still have both of my parents. Sometimes, just being there for someone is better than pretending to have the perfect words.

When public figures speak openly about their faith, it provides an opportunity to point people toward Jesus. Our focus is never on exalting individuals, but on celebrating every moment that directs hearts to Him.

I think the social media thing affects women more than it affects men, you can listen to all the hubris here and still use your discretion to navigate your affairs in your daily lives , but that cannot be said for some women, some of them want to apply whatever take they get on social media ( instagram in particular) verbatim without filtering what works in real life.
