-When Beirut bombed the barracks in 1983, Reagan addressed the nation and tried to be a calming force. You could tell it panged him that 241 soldier lives were lost, and under his calm demeanor there was an undertone that this wouldn't stand. The nation rallied around him.

-When Saddam invaded Kuwait in 1991 and we had our first casualties, HW Bush addressed the nation with a simmering fury that anyone would dare kill our young men. The nation rallied around him.

-After 9/11, Dubya was almost in tears as he addressed the nation, he was so hurt by it. The nation rallied around him.

-Trump? Trump just shrugs his shoulders, offers an empty platitude with all the emotion of a tranquilized corpse, and slurs out "that's the way it is" like he's trying to come to terms with the fact he's going to miss his tee-time, then Tweets out some garbage that looks like it was written by an 8 year old who told he couldn't have chicken nuggets for dinner. This guy doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself.

Also worth noting that in every other example above, we were attacked first rather than launching a widescale military campaign because aliens and every other crazy thing failed to distract from the fact the President is a kid diddler.

“Alex was kind, generous, and had a way of lighting up every room he walked into. He was incredibly intelligent and deeply passionate, and he made people feel safe. But most importantly, he was my brother. I had the privilege of being his little sister for 32 years. I will never be able to hug him, laugh with him, or cry to him again because of those thugs—and that is a pain no words can fully capture.

Alex always wanted to make a difference in this world, and it’s devastating that he won’t be here to witness the impact he was making. Through his work at the VA caring for the sickest patients, and passion to advance cancer research, he touched more lives than he probably ever realized. All Alex ever wanted was to help someone—anyone. Even in his very last moments on this earth, he was simply trying to do just that.

I want to thank everyone who has reached out to my family and me, whether you knew Alex personally or not. The messages, posts, and overwhelming positivity shared about him truly reflect his character, work ethic, and passions. My brother is, and always will be, my hero.
