Yesterday on Citizen TV, something disturbing slipped past many people unnoticed.

Nakuru West MP Samuel Arama said something that should disturb every Kenyan who believes in fair institutions.

He says that this year, for the first time, he was denied TSC employment letters specifically because he is now opposing the government, while MPs aligned with the state continue to receive them. The same Arama who threatened to shoot protesters during the finance bill protests.

If this claim is true, then TSC, the sole employer of teachers, has crossed a dangerous line.
Employment has been turned into leverage.
Neutrality into currency.

But here is the deeper lesson many avoid:

Injustice is easiest to defend when it benefits us.

When the same system worked in his favour, there was silence.
Now that it punishes dissent, it is named.

This is why I keep saying, never defend injustice, even when it favours you. Systems you protect today will discipline you tomorrow.

A nation does not collapse in chaos.
It collapses when wrongdoing becomes normal.
