A girl, 5, was allegedly raped multiple times inside a scholar transport vehicle after her friends from school had been dropped off in Mafefe near Lebowakgomo, Limpopo.

The little girl was part of a group being transported home when the sexual abuse allegedly began in January 2025 and continued until March. The suspect allegedly threatened the girl and warned her not to report the incident to anyone. During the Easter weekend, she bravely disclosed the horrific ordeals to her grandmother.

A case of rape was opened by the family, and the suspect, 35, was arrested. The case has been handed over to the Family Violence, Child Protection, and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit for further investigation.

Another child was sexually abused, and another child suffered in silence. This is the reality of our nation: children silenced by fear while predators walk free. It needs to end.

We demand action. We demand the immediate public release of the Sexual Offenders Register. We demand no bail and no early parole for perpetrators. We demand justice for every child and every woman. We demand GBVF to be declared a National Disaster. #womenforchange
