Traditional Bridges: Your funds will be taken out first on the source chain, and you have to pray to God to receive the funds on target chain without any delays or issues.

CrossX: Your funds will just be with you on source chain but in a pending state. Once you receive funds on target, then only the source funds will be taken out from you.
