One has to understand that the order in which names are written is super important, because it depicts a certain dynamic, beyond the sexual aspect.

PS - please just think of different top/bottom preferences as literally different ships, especially as fanon crystalizes.

If ppl of one ship are harassing ppl of another ship, do you get down on them for their ship, or for the harassment?

Equating ppl’s fannish top/bottom preferences to merely caring too much about who penetrates whom is deliberately obtuse.

Does this justify harassment? Of course not!

But belittling both the attacked & attacker as stupid for having a preference isn’t! Helpful! 🫠 2/2

I won’t give it unnecessary breath, but:

Most of CN & JP fandom, and a fair chunk of anglophone fandom, use ‘top’ & ‘bottom’ primarily as descriptors of specific fanon character dynamics/emphases. This is why SFW content still may have a ‘correct’ ship order label. 1/2
