Current times has revealed just how โfragileโ democracy really is. A whole state is openly refusing to comply with a Supreme Court decision. Republican governors are openly saying that the Supreme Court isnโt the final authority. A former president is claiming immunity forever.
If people and states can arbitrarily decide what they will obey or not obey based on what they deem to be fair, where does that leave the American people? Whoever is in positions of power have no accountability. Will the American people get the same right? Democracy is fragile!
Texas refusing to turn over control of the southern border to the US govt. after an order from the Supreme Court is a quite vivid picture of white privilege. If POC did either of those things, weโd be labeled democracy hating thugs, eliminate or banished.
Cognitive dissonance is to not advocate for solutions regarding our inflated housing costs, inflated grocery costs, inflated educational costs & every other inflated cost while at the same advocating to send BILLIONS to a conflict overseas.
