@_ColdNes @BigOxBob This "nonsense" is not new; it's curiosity about how effective Wemby's game would be outside of the paint (team defense)? Kat and the Knicks, pose the question. Two games in, we're getting the answer. The zone protects his flaws; his perimeter play is giving "fish out of water".

@_ColdNes @BigOxBob I agree with EVERYTHING but the last sentence; he's a special defender (within a team defensive concept) every team wishes they had. DPOY, to me, should be an "individual" defender award. As an individual defender (on the perimeter/outside the zone) Wemby's not giving unan DPOY.

@dgr63w3 @BigOxBob Correct!! It's real defense within a zone (read: team defense). The guy who individually protects the rim, has deflections, steals, navigates screens, defends POA, provides help defense and guards 94ft at the highest level trumps the roamer. That shouldn't be difficult to digest.

I strongly disagree that makes him the best individual defender in the NBA; that would be Ausar. DPOY is the award Wemby was gifted unanimously... Others weren't seriously considered.

@Dmcg1988 @mc142609 False. Many believe Ausar is the best defender in the NBA, while acknowledging Wemby is a huge defensive presence in the Spurs zone D. A zone defender should not be a unanimous DPOY winner. Zone is a team concept. Outside of the zone (perimeter), Wemby's defense struggles.

@MobHoops Literally looked for this topic. I've said it before and will say it again: Ausar is the NBA's best defender. Wemby is the best zone defender (goalie). Take him out of the zone, Kat might be NBA Finals MVP. It's sad the voters are enamored with big men in zone D blocking shots.

@Step4Bron Unpopular opinion but a fact. Wemby defends space. Ausar defends the best individual scorers in the NBA. Both are great at what they do, Ausar just does more defensively than intimidate and rim protect. If the NBA banned zone defenses, this wouldn't be debatable.

@lebron14016 @BradeauxNBA Amen deserved to be second team all-defense... His help defense, and rim protection were great. The 5.3 minutes per game Amen was not on the floor were losing minutes for the Rockets. DWhite and Daniels can't say that.

@CambazFutbol @BradeauxNBA I respectfully disagree that he wasn't a top-10 defender in the NBA this season good ... Additionally, I don't think his offensive role took away from his defense. He was a lock-down defender against the best offensive players in the NBA nightly, 43 mins/game.

@EverythingxKing This is one of THE most ridiculous takes I've EVER heard. His current game is simple: he cannot bring true value to a team as a reluctant shooter. He needs to improve his ball-handling and attack the basket with the intention of finishing. Other than that any team would want him.

@the_det_times Huge success!!! After the NBA Finals are over one team will feel unsuccessful; they only fell short of a goal...as did this team. This season was a success; they're young, talented and appear to be together.
