@THEVEGAMAN_@ChicaCaribbean@TheTitanBaddie My point is that it was obviously a collaborative effort. It is strange to me to only bring up her not making another album when her key collaborators never wrote or produced anything on the level of the Miseducation either
@thecovenprince@desdagemmm New Ark never claimed that she didn’t write or contribute anything on the album! They said that it was a collaborative effort!! These are screenshots from contemporary articles!! It’s obvious that they did the MELODIES while she contributed to LYRICS
@thecovenprince@desdagemmm She co wrote and co produced. She just didn’t properly credit her collaborators. The lyrics are way too personal to suggest she didn’t contribute anything.
The response to Yung Miami is proof that when Diddy gets out, he will be welcomed back with open arms. In fact, she’s smoothing that transition for him. “Song of the summer” is manufactured bs. “Fun” song or not. That’s all ❤️😘
i take issue with how they had rhaenyra crying &shaking while beheading otto and taking the throne. they would not have written it like this if rhaenyra was a man
Ari Lennox opened with tenderness. RAYE brought the fire. George Clinton kept the funk electric and alive. Durand Bernarr gave us chills. And BJ the Chicago Kid closed it out like only he could. Together, alongside The Vanguard, they created something on that stage tonight that was nothing short of sacred.
D'Angelo was a rare, once-in-a-generation talent who sang like he was carrying something the rest of us couldn't name but desperately needed to hear. His music was vulnerability. It was truth. It was soul in its purest, most unguarded form.
Tonight was more than a performance. It was a prayer and a THANK YOU wrapped in a farewell that felt worthy of the giant he was. Rest in the music, D'Angelo. It keeps you with us forever. 🕊️ #BETAwards
Black popular artists of the past were better because a) access to musical education was better & church attendance was higher b) the technology used to hide vocal flaws / lip sync was less advanced c) racism was worse so they needed to be really good to be taken seriously
I kinda tune out of the “our new artists cant sing” conversations because the old artists couldn’t either. Alot of the “legends” were indeed shaky performers except for a select handful.
Every criticism about how this scene didn’t make sense or was unearned or was unremarked upon after are all valid, but it still holds to my truth that Thrones even when it was “bad” could be excellent television
