A food competition has refused to pay its winner the ₦10 million grand prize.

Streetfood Naija is being called out by its recent winner, Akaraexpress, for refusing to pay him his prize money after announcing him as the winner online.

Akaraexpress, a roadside business owner, heard about how the competition helps small food businesses gain visibility and decided to participate.

He closed shop for a while to ensure he performed well in the competition, which cost him time, energy, and money.

With Enioluwa as the host, Akaraexpress emerged as the winner of the competition. However, he claims the organisers have refused to pay him, telling him he had to attend culinary school first , which he did

Almost a year later, he claims he is yet to be paid.

He is now appealing to Nigerians and the organisers to help him get his money, saying he is depr£ssed and deeply in business d£bt.
