It’s ok to pivot, reroute yourself, and change course and directions. Not every path we explore is for us, and not every right path for us is permanent.
The Bible is so clear on how important it is to never LOOK BACK. Not at an old position, an old ex, an old friendship, or even old ways that God has brought you out of. There are many people in the Bible but in clear words, God tells us to "remember Lot's wife"; who turned into a pillar of salt! Stuck in time. I pray that when you're tempted to "go back", He reminds you that you have so much to look forward to.
Self aware people move different. They’re more collected & thoughtful. They read the room & recognize the role they play in any dynamic. They’re present with how they’re showing up and the effect they have on others. It’s a much different way of operating than those who are not.
It's a sign of high emotional intelligence when you're ok with some people disliking you because you're not a people-pleaser, you stick to your boundaries, and you put them in their place the first time they try you, which is better than being a doormat and hoping they like you.
When I'm stuck in a rut, I bore myself. Consciously. I cut off all stimulation. I spend a whole day alone. Literally doing nothing. Staring at the wall. Looking out the window. Going for long walks, no music. Just sitting at my desk sipping green tea. No TV. No books. No phones. No scrolling. No entertainment. Nothing. I live in a state of total blankness. And the next day, ideas flow in like a flood breaking through a dam. Boredom is a doorway.
You underestimate how much of human behavior is driven by envy masquerading as morality. Watch who celebrates your restraint but resents your success. Praise is cheap. Patterns are honest. Study those, not the compliments.
When a man has a virtuous woman, his home is filled with peace, honor, and purpose. She loves God too much to do anything that would dishonor Him, and her husband is blessed and favored because of her.
1) both fear and faith ask you to believe in something you can’t see. the choice is yours
2) maybe your garden isn’t growing because you keep cutting down flowers to prove you’re a gardener
3) if they like who they are when they’re with you, they’ll keep coming back. It’s always that simple.
4) the word forever is an illusion. It can’t apply to people. It doesn’t have to apply to memories.
" 30 is so old". You've only been here for three decades. In two of them, you couldn't drink, rent a car, or even be fully responsible for yourself. Please wake up. You are a FRESH flower in the garden of life.
I love the fact that no matter what I go through, I take everything to the chest & eat it up with ease. I’ve been through enough to know that there’s nothing I can’t get through & that’s why it’s easy for me to accept things for what they are & move on. I’m never down bad about NOTHING!
There’s a difference between innerstanding something intellectually and letting your body integrate it. The body releases when it feels safety in truth. That release doesn’t need drama or explanation. It happens when you give yourself permission to be honest about what you’re ready to complete.
Completion creates space. Space creates clarity. Clarity makes room for what’s next to arrive without force. Your life reorganizes when you allow your inner world to settle first.
the faster you want your shit the more you need to saturate your mind with the idea thats its already here, or with the idea that you get what you want instantly. saturate it so much that its hard to even think of the old story. repeat it in your mind whenever humanly possible.
TONE matters so much.
Once you say things you can't get them back.
A huge RELATIONSHIP/MARRIAGE hack that's saved my wife & I countless hours arguing or disagreeing is:
1) If one of us needs to bring up something that may be sensitive, a disagreement, or hard conversation we will preface it by saying HAY BABE ELEPHANT later tonight.......
We then know a harder talk is coming.
This cues the others brain to take feedback & not instantly get defensive once a hard subject is brought up. You get time to prepare & think.
It also reminds us we are on THE SAME TEAM & it's not her vs me it's me & her vs a problem we are solving & growing through together.
The biggest hack is before these conversations PRAY TOGETHER & invite the Lord into your marriage.
No one does well when they feel attacked by their spouse & in those moments we often say things we wish we had back.
Try the ELEPHANT strategy next time!
Don't avoid hard conversations either.
Avoiding conflict creates a WAR within.
Every thought you've ever had emerged from silence and returned to silence.
You are not the creator of your thoughts.
You are the silence they borrow their existence from.
My therapist asked: "Who are you when you aren't being useful to someone?"
I sat in silence for 5 minutes.
She nodded and said: "That’s the work. You think your value is rent that must be paid daily. It isn't."
And intimacy starts with listening, not touching... emotional intelligence is very attractive. Period..and if you ask me on a deeper level, emotional safety is the real foreplay
You’ll go through life thinking you’re just average, not really THAT intelligent, and then you encounter a bunch of people who think writers morally agree with everything their characters do. That depicting something automatically means approving of it.
