It's so laughable. The same Democrats who spent years cheering every raid, every subpoena, every indictment against Donald Trump and his family are now melting down because federal agents executed a judicially authorized search warrant at Ilhan Omar’s house. They’re calling it ‘political intimidation’ and ‘weaponization of federal law enforcement.’

Remember when the FBI showed up at Mar-a-Lago? Remember the classified documents case, the New York cases, the Georgia case, the January 6 stuff? The chorus from the left and the media was ‘No one is above the law!’ Omar herself said versions of that—over and over. She posted that Trump’s indictment showed we live in a country of laws and that the powerful don’t get special treatment. She said the justice system was finally holding him accountable for trying to ‘overthrow the government.’

Now the shoe is on the other foot. A search warrant is served on a Democratic congresswoman in connection with an ongoing criminal investigation involving immigration paperwork, and suddenly the rule of law is under attack. Suddenly it’s ‘targeting political enemies.’ Suddenly the DOJ and Homeland Security Investigations are rogue.

This is how it always works with these people. Investigations of Republicans = justice and accountability. Investigations of Democrats = authoritarian persecution. They write the rules, then act shocked when anyone else tries to apply them. And the media plays along, treating Omar’s complaint as the story while treating every prior action against Trump as righteous.

The left’s commitment to equal application of the law is always rhetorical, never substantive, especially when it involves someone from their own coalition.
