Why is it hard to work as a medical professional here in the Philippines:
1. Extremely low salary. Some PTs that I know who work in the hospital are earning as low as 7k PER MONTH. And some are working as “volunteers” just to get experience and yeah they don’t get paid.
My boss challenged me that if i hit 60 patients this week, he’ll give me a bottle of his best tequila. I currently have 56 patients in my case manager this week. Hahaha challenge accepted 😂
Also, I have realised that even if I have been working as a physio since 2016, working as a physio here in Australia in private practice is definitely something. The amount of times that I felt dumb and stupid is insane hahaha!
Compared to my last job in aged care as a physio, my new job right now is challenging as fuck but i’m enjoying it so much! It’s super challenging coz you have to diagnose everything on your own especially if it’s not a medical referral and you’re the one who calls the shots.
