Sending lots of love to the Apple community on my last day as CEO. My title changes tomorrow, but the love I have for the Apple community never will. Thank you for being a constant source of inspiration. My gratitude is endless, and I’m excited for the next chapter!
I earned $120K a year working for Shell in 2012.
Ten years and multiple promotions later, in 2022, that figure has doubled to $240K a year.
In 2023, I stumbled on an internal, confidential, document that showed the salaries of my superiors.
I saw that even if I were promoted multiple times again, the best I could hope for in another 10 years was another doubling to around $480K a year.
This may sound crazy saying it out loud but that wasn’t cutting it for me.
I simply didn’t want the next 10 years to be a repeat of the last 10.
I wanted geometric progression, not an arithmetic one.
On my 40th birthday, in 2023, I was asked to make a wish as a blew the candles on my birthday cake.
“Get the hell out of Shell,” I quietly whispered. Months later, I was out.
In 2024, my businesses grossed $500K; in 2025, they did $1M - geometric progression.
It required me to be delusional about my abilities, to bank on the faithfulness of God and to trust that inner voice that always nag at me that I could be more, I could do more and I could have more.
We captured this beautiful moment of Chimdiebube Onwubiko arriving in Enugu yesterday to a hero's welcome.
He won a gold medal at the International STEM Olympiad Grand Finale in Rome.
I love seeing education reclaim its rightful place in our society.
This is just the beginning of something great.
Chimdiebube Onwubiko won a gold medal at the International STEM Olympiad.

He is the best in world science.
Remember, he is the best in IGCSE Chemistry in Nigeria.
The investment is worth it.
The wait is over.
We have 2 golds: Chimdiebube Onwubiko and Don Anele Munachimso.
We are the best in the world!
Egejurum Onyedikachi’s name was omitted. He should have a gold.
Something nobody tells you when you enter corporate life.
The real decisions are rarely made in the meeting. They are made in the small conversation after the meeting. The walk to the car park. The five minutes by the coffee machine. The reply to the reply.
The official room is for the record. The corridor is where minds actually change.
If you show up only for the scheduled part and vanish the second it ends, you keep missing the room where it really happens.
Learn to linger. Be present for the after.
@DonaldMills142 Indeed. It’s not that good ideas aren’t important, they’re just overrated relative to implementation.
The IDEA of going to the Moon is EASY, but GOING to the Moon is HARD.
Guys, always stand up to shake hands. If the other person is older than you, it shows respect. If they are younger than you, it shows humility. Either way, you win. People who sit to shake hands are bad-mannered.
When you shake hands, do not just offer a limp hand... even to an elder! Make sure that your handshake is firm. It shows confidence and fitness.
Then make sure that you look into the person’s eyes. It shows interest, attention and confidence. Don’t look away furtively like a liar and a thief!
Remember, as a man, there should be nothing limp or flaccid about you. You should always be polite and gracious, quietly confident (not arrogant, that is for inferior men) and erect. Always erect!
