@LincolnCity_FC But, but...Bristol City? Bit more cash, manager merry-go-round, but EPL aspirations? Nah. HUGELY disappointed as I think LCFC would have stuck with MS if difficult campaign and endorsed a move (upwards) if an EPL club came knocking. Shades of Cowleys taking the cash and running.
@ESPNUK But then he played Kepa, not Raya, in the cup final, and possibly paid the price. Sentiment over logic. Hindsight can be a hard taskmaster and sometimes the difference between genius and misjudgement in retrospect.
@FBLowdown Making their debut in the Championship in August. Have been to both, although one not since 2012. One down, one up. Sincil Bank back in the second flight of English football, for a year at least.
@SportsPeteO Hopefully a massive release clause when 'big name' clubs inevitably come knocking but absolutely worth a big step up in remuneration after leading Imps into the Championship.
@eurofootcom "But, but, but there may be someone better out there."
Name the names. I'll wait...
In the meantime, there's €200m to be spent making the squad fit for purpose, but go ahead, put your money on Luis Enrique, Thomas Tuchel or Alan Pardew (or even Alan Partridge.) Whatever.
@ChelsTransfer But those four significantly richer as a result. Get appointed, win stuff, get sacked, hoover up the compo. Bish bosh. #Jobsagoodun. Then go and win some more shit elsewhere, while CFC rinse and repeat. $$$ makes the (football) world go round.
@Footballtweet And @LincolnCity_FC were in the bottom half of the National (non) League, and now facing the prospect of playing in the second tier next season for the first time in over 60 years, possibly alongside Spurs and passing Leicester on the way. Turns tabled and all that!
@Telegraph And I'd be fearful of 'Honest Bob' @RobertJenrick being in charge of the petty cash at the school tuck shop. A lifelong Tory...until he jumped onto the next gravy train with a new bunch of grifters. Wake up and smell the coffee.
@ESPNUK A man now playing in the shop window, to secure another £6figures per week contract and a punchy sign on elsewhere? Not sure where this player was when losing at Grimsby, against Everton, drawing v Wolves etc, on a comfy weekly paycheck...
@Staceywestblog I think a super acquisition by Imps but I'm increasingly concerned about vultures circulating for our manager. 'Big' clubs making changes and I can't believe MS won't be on their lists. I think he's key to our Championship project (and I've bought into his vision from Day 1).
