Whether or not Michael Carrick’s position is now untenable, the Old Trafford crowd made one thing clear as they targeted the Glazers, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Jason Wilcox.
Sacking Carrick and replacing him will not fix the problems at Manchester United.
The issue is away from the pitch, writes @reallycerys ⬇️

🚨🗣️Alan Shearer on Manchester United's hierarchy.
🗣️“They should be ashamed, because at this point there's no excuse for what's going on at the club. I'm not a Manchester United fan, but honestly, I'm ashamed of what I'm seeing. This is one of the biggest clubs in world football, and the standards have fallen far below what you'd expect.
I think it's a matter of shame, to be honest, and the fans should take action, or else nothing will be done. The people running this club need to understand that Manchester United is bigger than any individual. You cannot keep making mistakes and expect the supporters to remain silent.
What frustrates me most is that the same problems keep coming back. Managers change, players come and go, but the bigger questions about leadership, recruitment, and accountability remain. At some point, the hierarchy has to stop making excuses and start taking responsibility.
The fans invest their money, their time, and their emotions into this club. They deserve more than promises and temporary solutions. If the people in charge genuinely care about Manchester United, then they need to prove it through their decisions.
You cannot keep asking supporters to be patient while the club continues to fall short. Manchester United needs a clear direction, strong leadership, and people who understand the responsibility that comes with running such a historic institution.”
**THIS IS THE LAST CHANCE SALOON**
Our club have acted from day one as though the new stadium is already a done deal.
Surveys built around theoretical scenarios, diluting the voices of the very people who fill Old Trafford and have devoted their lives to this club.
There is a rot, a decay, a sense of hopelessness all due to the Glazers and Ratcliffe. They have sucked the life and dignity out of our club.
**Make no mistake. We are at a crossroads**
Act now or wave goodbye to the Manchester United you once knew.
Over the coming weeks, we will lay out clear plans. Plans that demand **ACTION**
And those actions will be down to **YOU, the fanbase.**
Not The 1958. Not another supporters' group. Not somebody else.
**YOU**
You might not like us. You might think we should smash the place up or somehow empty a 75,000 seat stadium.
We don't care what you think of us. It's all irrelevant.
This is bigger than The 1958. Bigger than egos, personalities and petty differences.
**Get behind the action or STFU when the club tramples all over you.**
Stop waiting for somebody else to fight your battles.
Because if we sit back and everything we've warned about becomes reality, don't start complaining that nobody did anything.
**You were warned. You had a choice.**
The plans will be crystal clear. The actions will be crystal clear.
The question is whether enough Reds give a shit to follow through.
**More to follow. Get your notifications on.**
The 1958 🇾🇪
Michael Carrick will doubtless pay the price with his job for this deserved defeat to an excellent Bournemouth side and another lifeless display by his Manchester United team. Some of his selections and tactics have been questionable, United were again so open in the centre. But Carrick was not responsible for recruiting Youri Tielemans, who lacks physicality and mobility (and Aston Villa haven’t missed him) and Andrey Santos, a Chelsea reserve.
Carrick was not responsible for the board’s damaging failure to strengthen at centre-back and left-back. Carrick was not responsible for his main striker Benjamin Sesko being injured and the board’s failure to provide him with cover. Carrick was not responsible for the club he loves being in the grip of co-owners like the Glazers whose priorities are focused more on business than the sport. The direction from the top has been negligible, arguably negligent. No real leadership. No expertise.
Carrick may be out of his depth but many United fans sang his name during the painful demise to Bournemouth because they know he cares and they know the problems lie elsewhere. The Stretford End again sang in protest at the wretched Glazers.
Noticeable that there were few songs in support of Bruno Fernandes. He is supposed to be captain, rallying the players, Footballer of the Year, Player of the Year, not arm-waver of the year, underachieving and complaining. Yet Bruno will be at United longer than Carrick.
Carrick was praised for United finishing third last season and getting in the Champions League. But he will doubtless go partly for his own failings and mainly the failings of others. And United will be trapped in this doom loop again. And again until the core problems are addressed in the boardroom - and the Glazers sell up - and flaws in the recruitment department. #MUFC #MUNBOU
"Sell United and f*k off home" sing MUFC fans, the only good thing about the club right now.
And it's right. The Glazers have made their money many times over for 21 years. Fans never wanted it and that takeover should never have been allowed. Do the right thing: sell up and go.
Only place to get Erik ten Hag interview Part 1 in full is @TheAthleticFC, please do read it there if you can, context important. Part 2 out tomorrow.
We also discuss on @TOTDevils special, this afternoon, featuring audio from Ten Hag.

Before calling someone a “dirtbag,” the Senator should have had his facts straight. An apology is in order.
Glad one of us knew the difference between the Atlanta Hawks and the Iowa Hawkeyes!
