@Dom_Cotroneo This is fair. There were not a ton of big names on the offensive side of the ball. Almost everyone that got traded is more of a role player than a true game changer. What I would say is if you are willing to go all in on Skubal, why not offer the same deal for Abrams, etc?
@brewcitypaul If Giannis wants them anything is possible. We saw that with Turner. Milwaukee is a destination now, because we have one of the best players in the world. There is no leverage here, both guys are looking at minimum deals. I don’t think they are playing us
@TiWindisch But they'll still live in that 7-10 area. Milwaukee has been there and the only way out is finding the next superstar. NAW is very solid, but I'm not sure he changes the trajectory of a franchise. At some point the Hawks would need to land a star. Not sure that will happen.
@TiWindisch It’s a gap year. That’s exactly what the aim should be. Brook and Bobby’s contracts have held us down for years. We finally found a taker for Middleton. Best option is to let those two walk. Horst then has 2 years to figure it out. By then you can upgrade from Bryant.
@brewcitypaul I get wanting guys that can contribute to roster. The chance of finding that is slim at 47. I would rather save that spot for Horst to build with NBA players that are still under the age of 30. As long as Horst gets younger via trade and FA I’m fine with it.
@TiWindisch I understand that. But Giannis has not followed the typical NBA rules. And he has had many opportunities before this to act like a Durant, or Kawhi or Kyrie and never has. At some point, we have to believe that is who he is
@JoeMcCann3@BrianS_chicago@forney_brad How many development spots does one team need. Marquette already has about 4-5 in development spots. This method will be the downfall for Shaka. There is a reason no other teams are looking his way anymore. I don’t love the landscape, but you have to adjust.
@toddjdub Doing well my man! Just living and dying with every Marquette game here in Montana! Hope all is well!
And yes I completely agree. Shaka has great core to work with. Promising young talent and not all teams can say that. But I do think we need to supplement!
@LeoFarry@FB_goatlake@BE_GoldenEagle There is no “our way”. “Our way” should always be to win at all costs. That’s the way. If that’s with our own guys great. If that’s going to the portal to get better talent, than that’s what has to happen.
@WarriorMu89 @4ndrewBarnes Owens, Parham, Clark, Sean Jones, Norman. 5 right there. We live in 2025 if there are better players you go buy them. Do I appreciate those guys and do they have futures? Most definitely. I’m just saying I’d take Kadary Richmond over Tre Norman. I think that’s reasonable.
@BenSteeleMJS This is a fantastic story! We know the work they do on the court, but this is an awesome look at life off of it! Shaka speaks all the time of a family culture and the Joplins live it!
@TiWindisch Remember this trade is about the future. Opening money to make a big splash and build around Giannis. It’s not about Kuzma or anything else the Wizards send back.
@DaChicagoBadger As it stands now. Fickell has to have his eyes on more proven players. You can’t improve the offense only to ignore the back end of the defense. Too many teams will just light them up through the air
