Communication misunderstandings happen constantly in schools. If an autistic young person says to a teacher "What does this have to do with X?" they are being literal, not sarcastic.
Not understanding autistic communication is a neurotypical communication deficit.

@naomilars I’d say that it’s a sign you were being very seriously considered. Some would see it as a waste of time, but they wouldn’t waste their time if they didn’t think you were worth that time. It’s just that somebody else was better suited for it. You should take it as a compliment

A BBC researcher asked me today if I was aware of any parent in Wales who might be experiencing difficulty in either or both the following..

1. On an endless waiting list to secure for their child an assessment for a autism diagnosis

2 Had received a diagnosis for a child but has struggled since, securing practical support for their child.
