We've done it... We've fucking done it. I am so proud of my boys. They played their hearts out and they earned it. They stuck through it all and we did it. I could never ask any more of the work they put in.
WE ARE FUCKING WORLD CHAMPS.
2-0 vs ROSE.
Still showing some micro shakes, but cleaned it up. When a team is struggling to gel, there is that make it or break it point, and we reached ours.
First match where the team atmosphere is consistently positive and proactive, looking to build consistency onward.
@bonedfps@ryanels Using it to educate myself is okay though. I think a lot of value in life is the challenge, so while automation with AI might speed run things for me so I can focus on my primary task, it's apart of the same process of developing myself. May be getting too philosophical though.
@bonedfps@ryanels 1,000% agree. The two areas I've used it for were variable standardization documents off of code I had already designed, and auditing. Being self taught, a lot of terminology and standard practices are lost on me, so using to learn from shortcomings on an internal project is a +
@bonedfps@ryanels Brother I tried ππ even down to the audio analysis. In 2021 I was processing the audio alongside the default operator bar + kill feed + each HUD and my PC was dying.
Each iteration was always faster and I enjoyed
All for them to go release the API right after I left
@bonedfps@ryanels Also not saying the DB gave me an edge (even though it did for storage size) just for the tooling aspect. Re-learning OCR and fine tuning, really hurt me to see all the AI applications being pushed to the public knowing the shortcomings and how hard they will be to maintain.
@bonedfps@ryanels Yeah. It felt cringe, but I knew it was going to give me the lead in 2018 and it did (esp with R6 not having an API) and the SiegeGG stat errors being crazy.
I did try mongoDB, when I first swapped to Val after SI 2022, but I really think PostgreSQL gives me the best of both.
@bonedfps@ryanels I suffered through MYSQL in R6 for 5 years, with format and game changes dictating my table structure. JSONB was actually a lifesaver. I'm 100% self taught which is where the early day woes came in, but it just makes sense, esp if you go esport agnostic on your tools.
@bonedfps@Forrest_R6 Also no flame to Forrest, I just left when Astralis was turbo farming in scrims and came back to the same process 2 years later LOL
Some demons are eternal
@bonedfps@Forrest_R6 Players in all esports get lazy really quick in scrims, especially if there isn't inherent respect for the opponent. I'd rather my players get humbled on both sides, just not every round.
@gobbyvlr@GibsonCasts@ChanJamesB I used to be a naive over explainer, expecting fans to want to understand the game they watch more, but I was humbled. Now it's don't do it as much as I'd like, nor as much as I think it's needed, but it's the consequence of the world lacking nuance.
@gobbyvlr@GibsonCasts@ChanJamesB No matter how it comes off, I am glad to at least see you pushing for dialogue. It's the only way we will learn. The large majority would rather just have their opinion to be right, rather than to understand, but I've seen you often on both sides which I'm grateful to see in you.
@gobbyvlr@GibsonCasts@ChanJamesB Yeah, I think the biggest disservice coaches can do is keep a narrow scope on things. Seeing other games for what they are and finding a way to bring those strengths into Valorant is so undervalued. Not saying that's not what you're doing, just again saying as a generalization.
@gobbyvlr@GibsonCasts@ChanJamesB Which can't be done as much in Valorant due to the nature of the map design, you can counter comps or certain setups, but the nature of the game prevents full counters.
I could go on and on, and by no means am shitting on Val. Just wanted to provide perspective from both games.
