i feel strongly that this is the most well-managed account this site has had to offer. so much of the experience i've tried to curate through MythoAmerica and its "flashing back recent memories before an End we know is coming" vision has been achieved and exceeded with the ___ Years Ago Live format. yes, most of everyone's commentary has centered around the nearing climax of 9/11, but what's more crucial for me is the simulation of something more; this kind of slow-walk through history that can elicit in an audience the bittersweet realization that everything that has ever happened–– our triumphs, our tragedies, our joys and folly–– all have delivered us to where we were always headed. to do this retrospective requires a lot of quiet dedication, hours a day, and also an appreciation for the unique medium that is inherent to posting on Twitter to pull it off. and so even after tomorrow arrives and passes, i will continue to have good things to say about this account. because many have tried and failed in this gimmick/aesthetic page genre, and it's almost always because they did not have the discipline to maintain and further what inspired people in the first place. i still believe this site can be engaging in a way no other can when the effort is put in.

It reminds me of the discourse about why East Germany votes AfD when most the immigration is in the West. Why are they ‘racist’ in the East when they don’t even experience immigration in their towns? One reason could be that they’ve seen a city like Frankfurt and they would like to avoid that.

This is just normal behavior.

Much of the past 200-300 years of Western liberal intellectual traditions has been a horrified attempt to run away from these Lovecraftian truths; the bottomless stupidity of humanity and the balkanized, tribal dynamics of women and nonwhites.

There was a belief, 50 years ago, that everyone would just get along if we judged them "by the content of their character, not the color of their skin".

Mass deportations are the polite, peaceful, even generous and lenient solution.

The alternative is a tyrannical dystopian police state with insoluble background violence.

This is Casper, a livestock guardian dog. In 2022 he was only 20 months old and was guarding his flock of sheep when 11 coyotes attacked.
He fought them all off and killed 8 on the spot. Then he went missing for 2 days, he was hunting down the last 3 coyotes.
