Restaurant Owners: You’re gonna have to increase your prices. If you’ve managed COGS, labor, and marketing as best you can (and be brutally honest about this)... STOP living in denial, and take MASSIVE action to save your business. Tell your self, staff, and customers: “You’ll pay a lot but get more than you paid for.” And then, over-deliver. @ChickfilA has the most expensive chicken sandwich on the face of the earth. And yet, I’m still here every week with a a list of orders my family wants me to place. SIDENOTE: It's a spicy chicken sandwich with 3 slices of American cheese and extra pickles // 2 4-count chicken strips // Chick-fil-A sandwich with 2 slices of American cheese // 2 side salads with avocado lime dressing // Diet Dr. Pepper // Fruit cup From the lightning fast output times, to the consistency of the food, the great taste, and kind service, the clean environment, the convenience of being in my community... They earn every penny. On the flip side, someone serving a shitty, inconsistent burger, with horrible service for $0.50? STILL too expensive. Winning a race to the top is more sustainable than winning a race to the bottom. Rip the band-aid off. Let it hurt a little. Let it heal. And then, enjoy profits and be here for a long time.
