Thoughts to start your day & the occasional RT. Most inspired by stuff I've heard, read, a conversation, life challenge or victory, or the Bible. Please RT!
The daily4thought mission is to spread positivity and ideas that generate self-reflection.
It is not, nor will it ever be, monetized. Please follow and RT confident in knowing this is an outreach not a money stream.
In those times where you're put on the #defensive, consider #silence.
An disagreement with a coworker, spouse, #boss, or #friend can go south quickly. When a #conversation takes a turn down, our #emotions tend to rise up. This often leads us to say things in the #moment
To correct trouble hearing, there are hearing aids. For poor sight, there are glasses. But the eyes and ears are useless if the mind is blind. How do we correct a closed mind?
We must have the intellectual #humility and #courage to allow other #perspectives to infiltrate our own
To paraphrase author @BreneBrown
If you own your #failure, you become the #writer of the end of the #story.
If you choose not to own your failure and ignore it, then someone else it was writing it and you become the subject of it.

The chinese character for listen is a combination of ears, eyes, #heart and #focus. I feel like there's a lesson in that.
@simonsinek captured it well stating,
"Hearing is listening to what is said. Listening is hearing what isn't said."
Are you operating from accurate information? Have you ever thought something was #impossible only to find you were wrong?
Stop and take inventory of your #beliefs occasionally to ensure they are accurate. You just may find what you've #grown#believe isn't #true.
Few of us actually enjoy meeting after #meeting when it comes to projects at work or in our other activities. It would be so much faster to just execute. But thorough #planning is what allows us to #anticipate and avoid problems.
Take the time to #plan the win!
We will make thousands of mistakes in our lives, some with far-reaching effects and #consequences.
We make decisions thinking they are right at the time and second-guess them later.
We can't change the decisions of the past, but we can face the results with #courage today
I recently saw a video of Denzel Washington speaking and said, "You will never see a U-Haul behind a hearse". This resonated with me. Too often, we are often focused on the estates we can leave our #children when we should be focused on the #values we can instill in them
You get the #opportunity to #choose your spouse, friends, and mentors. Surround yourself with those who accept and #love you through all of your flaws. They're the ones who will push you to #grow past your shortcomings.
#Life will show us some good times and #serve up plenty of challenges. It's obvious that we weren't meant to go through life #alone.
#Strong#relationships make the good times even better. They also provide us with someone to #help carry the load when the burdens are heavy.
It's #wise to follow those who have been #successful so you don't repeat their mistakes. However, don't be #afraid to diverge from the pavement, and #explore from time to time. You just might end up paving your own trail for others to follow

The time to find a successor is long before you need one. Regardless of your role, you should be grooming someone to replace you. It ensures that you, them, and the organization all continue to #grow.

Whether you want to believe it or not, your #attitude is as contagious as #COVID19. This means YOU have the #opportunity to be a force for good in an otherwise terrible situation.
We all mess up and hurt those we #care about on occasion, but we tend to #judge ourselves based on our #intent while #judging others based on their #delivery.
When you feel #hurt by what someone said or their #behavior, consider that it may not have been #intentional
Taking #action on a few #priorities is better than a #mind full of good intentions. #Plan out what's most #important or #impactful, and go #execute. Your #efforts will nearly always begin imperfectly, but they will have begun, and the only way to get to step 2 is to take step 1
