@ItzVeeP@ThisIsITalk@Fortnite You’re absolutely insane if you think Epic Games isn’t going to use their greatest money and attention weapon eventually, whether that’s now or 5 years from now. All they have to do is give v-buck refunds and OG edit styles, anyways.
@ItzVeeP@ThisIsITalk@Fortnite They already did that when they got rid of Battle Pass exclusivity. Nevertheless, there’s still FOMO because you have to wait 18 months for cosmetics to return and you have no idea which ones will or won’t, and which styles they’ll come with.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS They would make fucking huge profit, even if they refunded v-bucks. V-bucks are an in-game currency, Fortnite wouldn’t actually be paying the money back.
@ItzVeeP@ThisIsITalk@Fortnite They are 100% returning eventually, you severely underestimate how much Epic Games wants money. Everything they do nowadays has 1 purpose, which is money. Nothing could make them more money than dropping the chapter 1 Battle Pass cosmetics.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS Again, all Fortnite has to do is grant OG edit styles and refund the v-bucks back to the original owners and the legal risk is mitigated to a very manageable level.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS And it’s so funny how you keep saying anti-consumer. There are far more consumers of Epic Games who don’t own these cosmetics than who do. It’s a very pro-consumer move to allow for beloved cosmetics to be unlockable for all consumers. Not just the gatekeeping Reddit dwellers.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS All they need to do is grant OG edit styles and offer v-bucks refunds and the legal ramifications are mitigated to an amount that makes it more than worth it for Epic Games to pursue.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS And not even just the profits that they’d make from these v-buck sales, but they’d also get an absurd amount of attention and high player counts that can help them stay afloat during GTA VI’s release.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS Anyways, the old Battle Passes are on borrowed time as far as exclusivity goes.
There’s way, way too much money to be made for them to not be re-released, whether that’s this year or 5 years from now. And the more the game ages, the weaker the backlash and repercussions will be.
@livid_endurance@starlitbonds@SolidXSHOTS Anti-consumer for you, sure, but pro-consumer for all of the people out there who want these cosmetics and never had the chance to get them.
