Today's MK character is Mokap. His first time as a playable character was in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (2002), and his most recent one was in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon (2006).
Mokap had been added late in Deadly Alliance's development, so he lacked many character-specific features such as his own fighting styles, a weapon stance, and a Fatality.
Blaze was perhaps the most powerful being at the time of MK:A as he carries the ultimate power within him that can be absorbed by any warrior who managed to defeat and destroy him. He is also able to single-handedly cause Armageddon by devouring existence itself.
Blaze was originally called "Torch" by the developers. However, they were not able to use this name in the games due to Marvel holding the rights to the name as part of the Human Torch.
First introduced in the series as a non-playable character seen in the background of the Pit II arena in Mortal Kombat II, Blaze was depicted as an elemental being from Outworld shrouded in flames.

Moloch is a word which appears in the Hebrew Bible, associated with child sacrifice. Traditionally, the name Moloch has been understood as referring to a Canaanite god. However, since 1935, scholars have speculated that Moloch refers to the sacrifice itself.
Moloch is an oni. In japanese folktale, an oni is a kind of yΕkai with evil nature. In MK lore, the oni are a vicious race of demonic beings that inhabit the Netherrealm.

Drahmin wears a mask, which is an artifact called the Face of Kun-Lo. Removing it causes him to go into Oni style where he loses his focus and attacks with murderous insanity.
The original name for Drahmin was going to be Amon, after a biblical demon in keeping with the tradition of Moloch. It was changed during preproduction of Deadly Alliance.
Drahmin was not always a demon; as centuries ago, he was a cruel human warlord in Outworld. For his crimes, he died and was exiled to the Netherrealm where his body and soul were to be tortured for all eternity. As the years dragged on, he fell further and further into insanity.
