What is the difference between prompt engineering and context engineering?
Prompt engineering is shaping how you communicate with an LLM.
Context engineering is shaping what the LLM has access to before it responds.
The prompt matters.
But so do the docs, tools, memory, examples, user preferences, previous messages, and retrieved information included in each call or agent turn.
Better prompts help the model understand the request.
Better context helps the model understand the situation.
