We would like to inform you of the following regarding the multiple complaints and criminal accusations filed by #KimSoohyun and our company against Kim Seui of Garo Sero Research Institute.

[UPDATE] Police believe that Kim Seui acted this way even though he knew the claims were false, in order to gain public attention.

Since March last year, Kim Seui had been making these claims while holding press conferences together with the family of Kim Saeron.

After investigating the case for over a year, the Gangnam Police Station concluded that, as claimed by Kim Soohyun’s side, Kim Seui manipulated the audio recording using AI.

As a result, police applied multiple charges including violation of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Violence Crimes, defamation, threats, and attempted coercion, and requested an arrest warrant on the 14th.

This came just two days after Gangnam Police Station announced a reform measure on the 12th, replacing all five heads of its investigation and criminal divisions amid controversy over misconduct in the investigation.

After securing custody of Kim Seui, police plan to confirm the detailed process of how he pressured Kim Soohyun’s side through YouTube channels and other methods.

**[Exclusive] Prosecutors seek arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui over alleged defamation of Kim Soo-hyun … “Risk of extreme action, detention necessary”**

The Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office has requested an arrest warrant for Kim Se-ui, the head of the YouTube channel *Garo Sero Institute* (“GaSeYeon”), who has been in a legal dispute with actor Kim Soo-hyun after broadcasting claims that the late Kim Sae-ron dated Kim Soo-hyun while she was still a minor.

According to the report, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office filed the warrant request on the 19th, stating that there were sufficient grounds to approve the police request for detention in a case involving alleged violations of the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes (distribution of illegally filmed material, etc.).

Kim Se-ui’s warrant hearing is scheduled for May 26 at 10:30 a.m. at the Seoul Central District Court.

Previously, the Gangnam Police Station, which investigated the case following Kim Soo-hyun’s complaint, cited the following reasons for detention:

* seriousness of the crime
* risk of repeat offenses
* possibility of evidence destruction or flight
* concerns about harm toward the victim or key witnesses

In its warrant request submitted to prosecutors on the 14th, police stated:

Police further stated that Kim Se-ui allegedly received KakaoTalk screenshots from the bereaved family showing conversations between the deceased and an unidentified person, then modified the material so it appeared to be conversations between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron.

According to police:

* Kim Soo-hyun’s photo was allegedly inserted into the KakaoTalk profile section.
* The conversation partner’s name was allegedly changed from “Unknown” to Kim Soo-hyun.
* Despite allegedly knowing the identity of the other participant was unconfirmed, Kim Se-ui allegedly presented the chats as genuine conversations between Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron.

Police also emphasized that Kim Se-ui repeatedly spread alleged false claims that:

* Kim Soo-hyun dated Kim Sae-ron when she was a minor.
* Kim Soo-hyun drove her to her death.

In addition, police claimed that Kim Se-ui broadcast several private images related to Kim Soo-hyun, including a photo allegedly showing Kim Soo-hyun washing dishes at Kim Sae-ron’s home, and pressured him psychologically by suggesting that more private materials would be released unless he apologized to the bereaved family or issued a statement.

Police concluded there were substantial grounds to suspect violations including:

* defamation through false information
* defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act

The police also argued that Kim Se-ui, who is already involved in multiple investigations and trials, would likely understand the serious criminal liability he could face if additionally indicted in this case, and therefore may attempt to evade legal procedures or flee.
