TLDR; i live with a lumbar spine injury & im tired of this rhetoric that it was So Incredibly Dangerous & he could’ve gotten paralyzed or that his doctors were negligent
not to be That Guy but the duck who had the fracture/break in his lumbar spine was 100% able to still play bc as my spine specialist put it, the only tx really is pain management
i still was a competitive cheerleader, tumbled, and danced after my L5 injury
tbf, mine is a spine fracture and bc i have a genetic disorder, it won’t heal. but it is possible to heal i believe. sure, it’s prob not advised to play a contact sport so soon, but it isn’t impossible, esp with whatever they gave him (epidurals, nerve blocks, etc.)
i’m v impressed with the flyers overall. i had fun watching them this season!!! im excited for next season!!! i haven’t felt this way about the flyers in years bro
in case anyone was wondering how deep it goes for me, here’s a pic i found recently of me from when I was 3 or 4. lived in DC, hence my brothers jersey. yet I somehow inherited my dads childhood team 😅
watching pens fans crash out is wild bc i’ve been a hardcore flyers fan for over a decade & a half. most of that time was the pens being good!!! you had your time & it’ll come back around again! i love the rivalry, but fuck dude, don’t wish harm on players or fans???
@LionelThrilling as someone who’s actually lived in DC, Philly, Chicago, & NYC (tho tbf, i lived in the first suburb out of NYC & was a commuter), Philly is unlike any other. i love Philly & Philly sports so much. i will defend my country of Philadelphia till i die idec
@hockey_enby speaking as a long time fan & someone at last nights game, the fans are just SO happy to be watching playoff hockey in their arena. they kept the energy so high thru the whole game, esp when we went down 1-0. i think the crowd will keep the hope & hype rn no matter what
