A couple months in jail for Dana. Eva dragged for covering up her mom crimes, followed by genuine remorse and attempts to be better was too hard to write apparently. Last couple weeks only purpose was garnering sympathy for Eva and her MA-MUH #BeyondTheGates

I don't know if the writers actually watch what they write because I think someone in the writer's room need to actually watch the eps and provide constructive criticism. They need to go back to the drawing board and figure out each character's motivations starting with Anita and Vernon. Presently constructed, The Duprees do not work. They are weak and lack direction.

The show cannot survive on kumbayas, rising above and the constant propping of Leslie and Eva. The Duprees should be formidable and yet their entire existence now revolves around these two. They need a rival family to elevate the storylines. BTG is literally void of drama. There are no stakes and no tension. Just overly propped characters with endless dialog that goes nowhere.

BTG missed a golden opportunity to capatalize off the YR crossover. Certain ppl will read this post and think this is coming from a disgruntled Kat fan. The writng for Kat, while problematic, is just the symptom of the overall problem. I really hope that BTG listens to constructive criticism and tries to improve. #Beyondthegates
